Over a career spanning more than 35 years, Doug Silvius has represented municipal and government entities, public utilities, energy companies and landowners in eminent domain and condemnation matters and water-related legal issues. His broader practice includes merger and sale negotiations, real estate transactions, business dispute litigation and corporate governance.

He is a past vice chairman of the Missouri Bar’s construction law committee and has been active in its real estate committee, and he has held leadership roles with the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association including chairman of the Ross T. Roberts Inn of Court program.

Silvius is a regular speaker at Missouri Rural Water Association meetings and has presented at seminars on real estate, municipal contracting and construction disputes. He serves on the Missouri Rural Water Association’s legal panel, is a member of the Association of Water Districts, the International Right of Way Association and the Missouri Municipal League and is a past chairperson of the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
