Member, St. Louis

Phil Christofferson is a St. Louis attorney with 28 years of experience in construction law and commercial litigation. Admitted in Missouri and Illinois in 1998 and 1999 respectively, Christofferson began his career at Thompson Coburn and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal before focusing his practice on construction law and litigation.

His work encompasses construction contracts, mechanics liens, construction claims, contractor performance bonds, surety and construction arbitration, including public construction matters.

Christofferson said his approach to practice is rooted in problem-solving over prolonged legal maneuvering: “I prefer to solve problems and remove my clients from bad situations, if I can, rather than create problems and bogging down in legal maneuvering that generate lots of billings but very little client satisfaction.”

His clients include Tarlton Corporation, Raineri Construction, ABC Supply Co., Kaemmerlen Electric and Murphy Company. Christofferson is a member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry and the Missouri and Illinois state bars and serves on the Truman State University Board of Governors.
