Diversity & Inclusion 2024: Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal DEIA Committee
Staff Report//August 14, 2024//

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Committee (DEIA Committee) at Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal works to assist the firm in achieving its diversity goals of strengthening performance and outcomes through collaboration among a wide variety of talents, skills, and experiences. The DEIA Committee’s mission is to empower PCB’s employees, clients, and community by advocating for diversity and providing an environment of equity, inclusivity, accessibility and belonging to everyone.
The Committee remains inspired by its members — attorneys and support personnel alike — that bring ideas on how the firm can educate itself, share experiences and have courageous conversations.
What motivates you most in your work as an attorney and as an advocate for Diversity & Inclusion?
We have come a long way, but still have a long way to go with being a more inclusive society. Listening to different people’s stories makes you more aware of this and makes you want to do all you can to make a difference. We are motivated by each person that walks through our doors. We want to foster a firm wide atmosphere of access, where all are welcome to be who they are.
What makes you most proud of your law firm/legal practice?
PCB has established a culture that makes our attorneys and staff feel welcome. We make an effort to recognize individual accomplishments in the legal practice as well as the accomplishments of family outside of work. Our firm has always strived to be accepting of all employees, regardless of their background, race, religion or sexuality, and the work the committee is doing is helping us be more effective in those efforts.
Maya Angelou once said that “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you do, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” PCB wants everyone at the firm and in our community to feel welcome and appreciated.
How do you give back to your community?
One members give back in a variety of ways, including working with various the Missouri Supreme Court to bring racial and ethnic fairness, particularly to juveniles and their families, through with CREF; serving on the Board to Gateway to Hope, an organization that removes barriers to timely, affordable breast healthcare, empowering people to live full and healthy lives; and working with the Jewish Community Relations Council to teach others about their traditions and actively learn about others.
