Assistant Attorney General
Attorney General Office of Missouri
Jefferson City

Nandi Person began her public service career as a paraprofessional with the Special School District from 2016 to 2018, then served as a United States Peace Corps Community and Youth Development Specialist in Costa Rica, designing “Chicas Poderosas,” a 20-week girls’ empowerment program in Afro-Caribbean communities.

During law school, she served as national director of Membership Operations for the National Black Law Students Association, strengthening chapter infrastructure nationwide and as president of the International Law Student Association, expanding programming on global justice and comparative law.

Person also served as a Women of Color Advancing Peace & Security Fellow. Now a multilingual assistant attorney general managing more than 500 labor and workers’ compensation matters, she volunteers with the Mound City Bar Association and mentors young women entering the profession.
Witnessing the appointment of Missouri’s first woman attorney general affirmed her commitment to public service. She said the best advice she received was to “never feel as though you do not belong.”
