Lillian Sweeney practices estate planning, drawn to the field in part by a deeply personal experience — her father, himself an estate planning attorney, was diagnosed with early-onset FTD before she entered law school. That experience shaped her approach to client counseling, giving her firsthand perspective on the importance of establishing estate documents early and reinforcing her belief that estate planning, though it often involves difficult conversations, is a genuinely beneficial area of law to practice.

Earlier this year, Sweeney was part of a team that secured a Missouri Supreme Court reversal on every issue raised in a case involving solar rights — a result she has described as meaningful not only for her clients but for homeowners across the state.

She chaired the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association Law Day in 2024 and has served on its board. She is currently a participant in Leadership Springfield’s Class 49 and serves on the boards of Springfield Sister Cities and the Tooth Truck.
