The POWER List: Sharon L. Stolte

Sharon Stolte was the first woman to serve as managing partner of Sandberg Phoenix’s Kansas City office, overseeing a major remodeling before transitioning last year to lead the firm’s bankruptcy practice.

Stolte focuses on Chapter 11 debtor and creditor issues, as well as Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer debtor matters. She is heavily involved in the local and national bankruptcy bar, serving as president of the Missouri chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, a former director of the Kansas City Bankruptcy Bar and a member of the Western Missouri Bankruptcy Court’s Attorney Advisory Group and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation

She is a board member of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute and sits on the advisory board for ABI’s Kansas City chapter. She is also a former vice chair of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s commercial and bankruptcy law committee.

Missouri Lawyers Media named her as a Law Firm Leader as part of the 2019 Missouri Lawyers Awards.

Stolte earned her law degree from the University of Kansas in 1989.
