The Appellate Judicial Commission is accepting applications to fill a on the Missouri Court of Appeals.

The vacancy was created by the appointment of to the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in July.

Stevens, who earned his law degree at the University of Missouri, served on the state appeals court since October 2021.

Applicants must be at least 30 years old, licensed to practice law in the state, a U.S. citizen for at least 15 years and a qualified Missouri resident for at least nine years.

Nominations can be submitted to the commission by e-mail at [email protected], or by postal mail to Appellate Judicial Commission, Missouri Court of Appeals Vacancy, Post Office Box 150, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.

Citizens are encouraged to nominate well-qualified candidates for the commission’s consideration.

Public interviews of the applicants will be conducted by the commission Nov. 17 and 18 at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, in St. Louis. Three nominees will then be submitted for the governor’s consideration.
