Tax Law & Estate Planning 2022
Taxes, like death, are inevitable. But while you can’t reason or bargain with death, a good tax attorney can make your bill to the government a little more palatable.
In this latest edition of THE POWER LIST, a regular feature from Missouri Lawyers Media, we highlight the most powerful attorneys in tax law and estate planning. These are practitioners who help individuals and businesses minimize their bills and structure their deals in the most advantageous way. They defend clients against accusations of paying too little or criminally defrauding the government. They argue before administrative panels and courts on the best interpretation of tax laws.
Oftentimes, the best attorneys in the field come to the practice from the other side of the table. As accountants, prosecutors and officials of Internal Revenue Service or the Missouri Department of Revenue, they’ve got inside experience to use on behalf of their clients.
Our editorial team interviewed attorneys around the state and consulted Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s archives to arrive at a list of what we believe are the 30 most powerful tax attorneys in Missouri.
This is, of course, a subjective endeavor. Perhaps our readers will disagree with some of our choices or believe we’ve overlooked someone. Feel free to let us know what you think we got right, and who else we should have considered. And keep an eye out for new versions of THE POWER LIST throughout the year.
